When speaking with business owners, especially those of small businesses, they may get orders for a product outside of their national borders due to an e-commerce platform. However, one or two orders from customers in an overseas market does not necessarily mean that it is the best international market to invest time, money, and energy for global expansion.

The same applies for service providers who may utilize e-commerce and other digital technologies for a wider reach.
